At the conclusion of this activity, the participant will be able to:
- Describe and critically appraise recent advancements in chronic kidney disease management, including the integration of novel pharmacotherapies such as SGLT2 inhibitors, GLP-receptor agonists, and non-steroidal MRAs into treatment plans
- Discuss the management of various complications in CKD and ESKD
- Discuss obesity in CKD and the role of nephrology providers
- Evaluate the latest evidence-based treatment strategies for IgA nephropathy and lupus nephritis, with a focus on novel therapies
- Analyze the role of complement activation in various kidney diseases and explore the role of novel therapeutic interventions targeting the complement system
- Highlight updated approaches to managing kidney-related complications in cancer patients, including the nephrotoxic effects of immune checkpoint inhibitors and targeted cancer therapeutics
- Review the basics of dialysis vascular access and critically appraise recent advances in the field
- Assess the unique challenges of managing kidney disease in pregnant patients, including hypertension, preeclampsia, and acute kidney injury, with a focus on balancing maternal and fetal health
